Front Door Treats to launch

WAVERLY (KWWL) -

A Waverly family is hoping to turn their love for dogs into a business.

It's called Front Door Treats.

"You know, there's a reason we started a business that has to do with dogs. They can be a handful, but they're so full of energy and love. It doesn't matter how bad of day, they love you, and they want to see you," Founder, Ryan Holden said.

Ryan Holden and his wife Kathleen are trying to launch Front Door Treats.

It's a monthly delivery service for dog treats.

"I think a lot of people have the same concerns as we do. So, if we can provide that market to them, I think they're excited," Holden said.

\With only seven or eight natural ingredients in each puppy treat, it's even good enough for humans, but it probably won't taste so good.

"It seems like most of the dog treats we find anymore are more like communion wafers than the cookies Grandma used to make for us," Holden said.

Ryan said he's looking for financial help through Kickstarter.com, and donors can get something in return.

"You can even name a treat after your dog at one of the levels. Once all of that is finished and complete we'll be able to launch and purchase supplies. The website is done, the branding is done. We just need to press play," Holden said.

At last check, more than $600 of their $6,500 goal has been reached.

Kathleen and Ryan Holden said they hope to launch Front Door Treats by the middle of December 2015.
