The fire has since been put out.  A man who works near the scene says everything happened very fast.

The smoke coming from the fire was carried over by high winds.

Some say the smoke had a popcorn smell to it.

Chickasaw County officials will not say whether anyone was hurt.

Andy Hingten owns a business near the site, he says he was concerned for those who work there, as many of them come to his store.

Witnesses say multiple fire departments are on the scene of a fire at Five Star Co-op in New Hampton.   A spokesperson with the USDA says there were flames earlier this afternoon, and there is still smoke at this time.

Roadways in the area are blocked off by emergency vehicles.  A KWWL reporter is on the way to the scene and will have updates when they become available.

The Chickasaw County Sheriff's Department did not comment at this time.
