BUCHANAN COUNTY (KWWL) -

Two people are in the hospital after a motorcycle hit a deer.

It happened Wednesday night around 7:30 in the 2100 block of 118th Street in Buchanan County east of Hazleton.

According to the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office, 51-year-old Corey Sandhagen of Oelwein was driving the motorcycle and hit a deer, causing him to lose control. Sandhagen and his passenger, 48-year-old Karla Sandhagen of Oelwein, were both thrown from the motorcycle.

Both Sandhagens are now at UIHC. Their conditions are not known at this time.
