DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Dubuque Police say a local man faces a felony arson charge after they say he burned more than $7,000 worth of his roommate's clothes.

38-year-old Jeffrey Duwe was arrested early Saturday morning.

According to court documents, Duwe told police he was upset that his roommate didn't show him any affection while she's going to school.  Documents show he told his roommate if she didn't remove her items from his house, he would burn them.

About 70 clothes hangers and 12 pairs of woman's jeans were found by investigators at the scene.  Duwe told police he had burned some of his own items as well.

Duwe was charged with second-degree arson, and made his initial appearance in court Monday morning.  His bond has been set at $10,000 cash only.
