The Chicago Cubs became the first team in post-season history to have 6 different players hit a home run as they dropped the Cardinals 8-6 on Monday night to take a 2-1 series lead.

Kyle Schwarber started the fireworks with an opposite field, solo shot to left in the second inning. The Cardinals responded, taking their only lead of the night plating a pair in the top of the fourth.

Starlin Castro tied it back up at 2 with a solo shot in the bottom half of the inning, while Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo went back to back in the fifth for a 5-2 Chicago lead. Jorge Soler and Dexter Fowler added insurance on long balls in the sixth and eighth innings respectively to round out the Cubs' powerful performance.

Despite struggling at times, Jake Arrieta picked up the win for Chicago, pitching 5 2/3 innings, while allowing 4 runs.

The Cubs will look to close out the series on Tuesday in game 4 at Wrigley Field. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:37 PM.
