Houston (KWWL) -

The Kansas City Royals erased a 6-2 deficit in the 8th inning and rallied to defeat Houston 9-6 on Monday. The victory forces an ALDS decisive game 5 in Kansas City on Monday.

The Astros appeared in control when Carlos Correa hit a 2-run blast followed by a solo shot from Colby Rasmus to take a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the 7th.

That's when the Kansas City bats came to life. The Royals opened the top of the 8th inning with 5 straight hits to pull within 2 of the Astros. Kendrys Morales would then hit a shot to short that would get booted by Correa allowing 2 more runs to score, tying the game at 6. The go-ahead run scored on a ground-out to second base by Alex Gordon.

Eric Hosmer added some insurance for Kansas City with a 2-run home run in the top of the 9th.

Game 5 of the series is set to be played at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City on Wednesday.
