Concrete fell on two workers when a trench collapsed that they were digging in.

One 52-year-old man's legs were crushed in the accident.

He was taken the hospital with possibly one broken leg.

The other man in the accident only had some scratches from the incident.

Waterloo police and fire crews responded to a call at around 8:00 a.m.

The employees that were hurt were working at a construction sight on the 300 block of Cedar Bend in Waterloo.

A storm water pump station is being built at the site.

This station will pump storm water from around the area back out to the river.

This project is in response to the Iowa 2008 floods.
