Iowa Basketball Media Day

Posted: Updated:

Iowa head basketball coach Fran McCaffery and his Hawkeye basketball team look to continue to move forward.

Fran and the Hawks return four starters and five seniors to a team that made its second straight trip to the big dance and won its first NCAA tournament game in 14 years.

Today the Hawks held their annual media day inside their practice facility at Carver Hawkeye Arena.

The Hawkeyes lost first team all-big ten star Aaron White--but return guard Mike Geselle, center Adam Woodbury , forward Jarrod Uttoff and forward Peter Jok to a program that finished with 22 victories and a 12 and 6 Big Ten record. McCaffery says the veterans are fine its the newcomers with which he has concerns .

Fran McCaffery:

"You do feel good, we've got the experience, we have four starters back. I almost consider Clemmons a starter, because he started most of the time, so maybe we have five.

But after that there's very little experience. And that would be a concern to anybody, but I do like the group. I do like -- to go back to your question, I do like the chemistry. I think the guys having gotten here in June, with the exception of Isaiah, they are locked into trying to learn what they're doing."
