EVANSDALE (KWWL) -

At Poyner Elementary in Evansdale, they are starting to talk about bullying for National Bullying Prevention month.

Julie Fenton's fifth grade class has been working on a poster to talk about what bullying sounds, feels, and looks like.

They're also asking everyone in their school to sign a petition to end it.

Staff at the school say it's frustrating to have to talk about bullying, but absolutely needed.

"It really is but when you sit there and watch the news and things like that you know you see people running for politics doing it. You see people in sports doing it. You see people every where so they are continuing seeing these images of people being bullied to the point where it's almost like it's acceptable," said Fenton.

On Monday, students were asked to wear blue for bully prevention. Principal Trista Manternach says more than 75 percent of the school did just that..
