A beloved building that was destroyed in the 2008 Iowa flood reopens today.

After seven years of construction, the Island Park Beach House in Cedar Falls finally opened.

The new building's design is similar to the old building.

However, this new building is better prepared for the water.

It has concrete floors and small doors along the edge that allow water to flow in and out of the building.

The old building had been a part of the community for almost 90 years. Bands like Green Day and Black Flag have played there.

Many say this beach house is an important part of the community, and they are happy it is back.
