MOLINE, Ill. (KWWL) -

A contract between Deere and Company and United Auto Workers is set to expire at midnight.

Negotiations for a new labor contact have been underway since the beginning of August, according to Mike Oberhauser, 1st Vice President with United Auto Workers Local 838 in Waterloo.

Ken Golden, Director of Global Public Relations with Deere & Company, says there won't be any public statements during negotiations except in news releases.

The new labor contract covers approximately 10,000 Deere workers who make farm and construction equipment.

Employees include workers in Waterloo, Dubuque, Ankeny and Davenport.
