Bracelets keep a little girl's dream alive

Posted: Updated:

An Iowa family finds a bracelet while on vacation and it becomes so much more than just a piece of jewelry.

Shyla Gerber and her mom are getting back into the swing of things after heading back from vacation.

It's a vacation they will never forget because they found a bracelet.

"I found it, and I thought it  belonged to someone, but there was no one there. That's when I saw instructions on it," Gerber said.

The instructions were about a girl named Kirsten Marie. She was a little girl that dreamed of traveling. She, unfortunately, died in a car accident. To keep her dream alive, her family made bracelets and put them in places across the United States.

They ask that people who find them take pictures with them and post them to the Facebook page, "Where is Kirsten Marie Now?"

The bracelets also glow in the dark, so people can find them anywhere and in any lighting.

The bracelets have made it to places all over the world. Now there is one in Iowa.

Gerber and her family are looking for someone to give the bracelet to. This is not the first time one of the bracelets have made it to Iowa.
