WATERLOO (KWWL) -

An eastern Iowa city may get involved to help clean-up a mess. Tri-City Clothing on Logan Avenue in Waterloo burned down in December. Months later, the rubble and debris from the fire have yet to be dealt with.

The city attorney says it's the building owner's job to clean up these remains but the owner says they don't have the money to clean it up.

When we questioned the city a couple weeks ago, we were told they didn't want to spend taxpayer money on this project. Now it looks like that may be changing. The possibility of using city money will be discussed at Monday's city council meeting which begins at 5:30.

To give you an idea of the cost, Benton Sand and Gravel of Cedar Falls said they could remove the material for $175 dollars per ton.
