WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Needing to get rid of some household toxic materials or old electronics?

Black Hawk County residents can do so today.

Residents can drop off toxic waste and electronics at the Cedar Falls Public Work Complex's new location, 2200 Technology Parkway.

The event is taking place from 9 am - 2 pm.

The event is run like a large drive-through. Residents are asked to stay in their cars while volunteers unload the unwanted items.

Household items such as lawn chemicals, rechargeable batteries, fluorescent light bulbs (compact and tube), propane tanks, old gasoline, mercury thermometers, and much more will be accepted from residents for safe disposal.

Some fees may apply.
