City High rolls to a 42-14 victory over Ottumwa

Posted: Updated:

The Little Hawks fought through a typhoon last week to take back the boot from Iowa City West. Ottumwa lost to Indianola last week and they were hoping to get back to their winning ways here in Iowa City. Let's go to the highlights.

It was safety week at City High and nothing says safety like bicycle helmets and garbage bags.
We start with the Little Hawks up six to nothing in the first quarter. The Ottumwa would get into the end zone in the second quarter but fumble, a bulldog would land on the ball and with the extra point they would take the lead 7 to 6.
Later in the second quarter Little Hawks QB Jarod Taylor  would hit Jason Jones who would fight his way into the end zone. That's six points for the Little Hawks. They would go for two and Taylor would loft it up for Jones again and he makes it look easy. Little Hawks go up 14 to 7.
Ottumwa  would try to make it into the end zone before the half with this bomb to number 16. It would get they close enough to attempt a field goal. The field goal wasn't pretty but it was good. The little Hawks would go into halftime up 14 to 10.  City High wins 42-14.
