CONNECTICUT (KWWL) -

Most Americans, in a new survey, agree with Pope Francis' call to do more to address climate change.

Pope Francis is in the U.S. this week talking about a number of issues.

In a new Quinnipiac University national poll released today, 61% of those surveyed agree with his position about climate change while 26% disagree.

"The Pope is revered and admired by people of faith as well as those with no religion. And it's not just on a spiritual level. Americans agree with his stance that climate change is a global concern," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,832 adults nationwide with a margin of error of +/- 2.3 percentage points.
