Police chased a 13-year-old  driver. The chase ended when the driver lost control and hit both a no parking sign and a utility pole.

It happened just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday night at the 500 block of Lime Street in Waterloo. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle for a traffic violation when the driver failed to yield and tried to escape. The utility pole was snapped off.

Police say the driver and all of the passengers then fled from the vehicle. They were later found.

MidAmerican Energy came to the location and disconnected the utility pole from the power line.

The driver was charged with eluding and operating without owner's consent.

Police officers say the chase did not last long. Another minor that was in the car is also facing charges.

This was not the only police chase that happened in Waterloo within the last 24 hours. That chase also ended when the driver hit a utility pole.
