UPDATE: UnityPoint Prairie Parkway project discussed

The Cedar Valley will have a new primary health care facility for patients, young and old.

The structure looks more like a skeleton of beams right now, but the new primary care facility is set to open in the fall of 2016.

These photos show a glance of the new nearly 90,000 sq. ft. health care facility when it opens in November of next year.

During Thursday's beam-signing ceremony, health care providers expressed their excitement about the new project.

They believe the new primary care facility will bring a better health care experience for everyone, with new and improved services, and a warm and home-like atmosphere.

"That is essential that we take advantage of that time to work together as a health care team to really wrap all the services around the patient and the family to make sure we are navigating through those really difficult times in health care," family physician, Dr. Kyle Christiason said.

From pediatrics to geriatrics, medical experts say this new three-story facility will have everything, including obstetricians and several therapy services.

As mentioned, organizers are hoping to have the building fully constructed by November of 2016, but an exact date has not been set for the opening.
