SPENCER (KWWL) -

Federal prosecutors say a northwest Iowa chiropractor has agreed to pay more than $62,000 to resolve allegations about improper Medicaid billings.

Prosecutors said in a news release Thursday that Elizabeth Kressin, of Spencer, was accused of violating the civil False Claims Act by submitting improper claims from January 2008 through June 30 this year.

The claims include what the prosecutors say are medically unnecessary chiropractic procedures for which payments aren't allowed. They include bed wetting, colic and ear infections.

Kressin didn't immediately return a call Thursday from The Associated Press.

The prosecutors say there have been no admission and no court determination of liability.
