UPDATE: 12-year-old girl on bicycle runs into car

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Cedar Falls Police say a 12-year-old girl riding to school, struck the back of a car after misjudging how long it would take for the car to turn into a parking lot.

The bicycle rider had minor injuries and left the scene with her family.

No charges will be filed in this incident.

There was minor damage to the bicycle and car.

Cedar Falls Police responded to an accident Wednesday morning involving a vehicle and a bicycle.

The accident happened around 8 a.m. at 9th and Division Streets, near Cedar Falls High School.

Police say a 12-year-old girl on a bicycle was hit, and suffered cuts on her leg.

Police are still investigating the incident; the cause of the accident is unknown at this point.
