WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Dozens of Eastern Iowa veterans are making their way to Washington, D.C. this morning. It's a day all about honoring their service.

The veterans will be taking part in the 14th Sullivan Hartogh Davis Post 730 Honor Flight out of Waterloo.

They will leave at 7 a.m. this morning.

5 State Troopers will also assist on this flight. They are:

1) Lt. Randy Olmstead - Navy

2) Sgt. John Skaar - Army

3) Sgt. Brian Beenen - Army

4) Trooper Jeremy Schaffer - Marines

5) Trooper Michelle Beck - Marines
