As police continue to investigate the moments leading up to this week's deadly head-on crash at Dubuque road and South Nesbit.
Friends of Dale Weber , the biker who died in the crash.
Took a moment out of their weekend for a moment of silence.

That moment was taken during the Annual Forever Young 5K run honoring Lindsey Nichols and Kelsey Lee.
Weber's son was actually dating Lindsey Nichols at the time of her murder and a witness to the shooting.

KWWL's Jessica Hartman was at the event today.

Runners took to the pavement today, in memory of two young women who lost their lives in 2012.
Lindsey Nichols and Kelsey Lee were friends who died just months apart.
Now their families raise scholarship funds in their honor.
"Its a way to give back and its a way to keep their memories fresh in everyone's minds," said Kelsey's mother, Lynette Lee.

It has also been about the healing process.
"It's basically turned a negative in our life, into a positive. I know the girls would be really proud," said Jan Nichols, Lindsey's mother.
But the healing doesn't happen just once a year. It continues through out the year here at Angel's Park.

"Like I said, its a healing process, it helps put us at ease; help puts better thoughts in our minds," said Lindsey's father, Tom Nichols.

Organizers say this was the largest turnout for the race in the last four years.
The families say they are grateful for the support of not only the Evansdale community, but the many strangers who came, despite having no connection to the girls.

The scholarships are given to Black Hawk and Buchanan county students, pursuing a medical degree because Lindsey and Kelsey were involved in health care.
