IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Former University of Iowa defensive back Brett Greenwood will serve as honorary captain this weekend when the Hawkeyes host Pittsburgh this Saturday.

Greenwood was named second team All-Big Ten in his junior and senior year, and was a member of the 2009 Orange Bowl team that finished its season 11-2.

After college, Greenwood collapsed in 2011 during a workout at his former high school of Pleasant Valley in Bettendorf.

He still continues rehabilitation exercises after the collapse.  (You can see part of that rehab in a video posted on social media earlier this month.)

Greenwood will accompany the Iowa captains to the center of the field for Saturday’s pregame coin toss.

He will also be with the Hawkeyes in the locker room before and after the game.
