DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium has announced they will be closed on Mondays for the winter.

John Sutter, Director of Marketing and Sales, says the new winter hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday – Sunday.

The winter hours will be in effect from November 1 through February 29, 2016. Normal hours will resume on March 1, 2016.

Sutter says closing the museum on Mondays will allow staff to make repairs and improvements.

The Museum will open on select Mondays, including December 21 & 28 for winter break and January 18 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The museum will be closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. It will close at 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
