UPDATE: Postville motel search tied to Waterloo armed robbery

UPDATE:  An armed robbery investigation in Waterloo leads law enforcement officers to a Postville motel.

Waterloo Police say two suspects went into the iWireless store on San Marnan on Tuesday night. They ordered an employee into a different room at gunpoint. Investigators say the suspects then stole cash and cellphones.

Police say the suspect's vehicle was later spotted in the parking lot of the Pines Motel in Postville. They asked for help from the Iowa State Patrol's tactical team to search one of the rooms inside. Police say the people staying in the room are now being questioned.

UPDATE:  Waterloo Police are leading the investigation at a motel in Postville.

Police tell KWWL it's related to the iWireless robbery in Waterloo on Tuesday night.

The iWireless on San Marnan Drive was robbed around 6 p.m. Tuesday. Police say the suspects stole phones, money and were armed with a handgun.

Police say arrests have been made.



Postville Police say officers are on scene at the Pines Motel in Postville.

Police say they are serving a search warrant, but would not confirm the details of the warrant.

Police along with a tactical team are at the motel this morning. The Iowa State Patrol says this is an in-depth investigation, with multiple agencies involved.
