WATERLOO (KWWL) -

At-Large City Councilman Steve Schmitt says he is seeking re-election to the city council in the upcoming November election.

Schmitt was expected by some to run for mayor, after he challenged Buck Clark in 2009 and 2013, losing both times.
Clark is not running to be mayor again.

Instead, Schmitt is seeking his third term on the Waterloo City Council.

He is president and CEO of Schmitt Telecom Partners, Inc., and was first elected to the Waterloo City Council in 2007.

Schmitt is an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Waterloo Downtown Rotary, Boy Scouts, Salvation Army and Birthright, among others.
