IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

University of Iowa quarterback C.J. Beathard has been named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week following the Hawkeyes 31-17 win over Iowa State.

Beathard, who shares the honor with Nebraska running back Terrell Newby, completed 15 of 25 passes for 215 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. He also ran the ball 10 times for 77-yards.

The Hawkeyes overcame the Cyclones 17 to 10 halftime lead to keep a perfect 2-0 record on the season.

This is Beathard's first Player of the Week honor. The last Iowa player to receive the honor was Marvin McNutt on October 24, 2011.

Beathard and the Hawkeyes will host Pittsburgh on Saturday night inside Kinnick Stadium.
