UPDATE: Man hit by car on Highway 65 in Hardin County identified

HARDIN COUNTY (KWWL) -

UPDATE:

The Hardin County Sheriff's Office identifies a man found in a ditch near Highway 65 is 23-year-old Timothy Nussbaum of Hutchinson, Minnesota. 

Nussbaum was in Iowa working on a farm operation.  Deputies believe he was walking back to his hotel when he was struck by a vehicle sometime around 10:00 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators believe they have located the vehicle that hit Nussbaum.

No arrests have been made at this time as the investigation continues.

 

PREVIOUS STORY:

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting in an investigation after a body was found in a ditch near Highway 65 in Hardin County. According to DCI, the male was found north of Iowa Falls just after noon on Sunday. His name has not yet been released.

The Hardin County Sheriff's Office, Iowa Department of Public Safety, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, the Iowa State Patrol and the Iowa Falls Police Department are all helping with the investigation.
