Memorial to remember Tyler Sash one final time

Solemn songs and a makeshift mural as more than a thousand people spent Friday afternoon - a final day to remember Tyler Sash.

“He touched the lives of so many people around by just saying hello,” said Sash's pastor Bryan Latchaw. “He gave tirelessly of his time and talent to positively influence those around him”

Latchaw says Sash was the ultimate leader, a dedicated athlete and a Christ-like man.

“He means everything, he's a great guy all around athlete played on and off the field,” said friend Zachary Powell. “Gave back to the community, he showed kids the ways to progress in life.”

The colors of black and gold painted the Oskaloosa stands to observe the former Hawkeye.

His past teammates and friends are still dealing with the raw emotion.

“He meant a lot to me. I came from Detroit. When I first got to Iowa I didn't like to. He told me time will heal,” said Powell.
