Fast food chain McDonald's announced that it will be switching to eggs harvested from chicken's that aren't housed in cages within the next ten years.
Locations in the United States and Canada will switched to eggs from hens that are housed in a barn where they can freely roam.
Currently the company uses more than 2,000,000,000 eggs each year in the U.S. and Canada, and just 13,000,000 of those are cage-free eggs.
This is just the latest in announcements from the company changing it's breakfast policy; others include instating all day breakfast at its location and starting to use real butter during breakfasts.
