WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A fire took almost everything from a bride to be, the day before the ceremony. The bus she was driving with all her wedding items caught on fire.

It happened on highway 20, west of highway 63.

Cally Olson was picking up her friend before heading to Des Moines.

"I heard a pop on the bus and it filled with smoke," said Olson.

Shortly after Olson got out of the van it caught on fire on the highway. Olson says everything for their wedding was on that bus, including her dress, daughter's flower girl dress, and decorations.

"You name it, it was in there," said Olson.

After Olson's friends and family heard the news they sprang into action, looking for different items for a wedding.

"We didn't even think anything like that was going to happen. We were just right there in the moment and then all of the sudden everybody's just we got this, we've got that, take what you need. So it was really great," said Olson.

Olson says her friends ran all over the county searching for things for the wedding. She says 'Simply I Do' in Cedar Falls donated her wedding dress.

"It wasn't the perfect that I planned, but it was even better because of everything that had, everything came together," said Olson.

Olson did save the rings and bouquet from the bus.
