Search is on for man who left scene of Harpers Ferry crash

The Allamakee County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man they say left the scene of a crash near Harpers Ferry on Sunday.

Deputies were called to Lansing Harpers Road at around 1:52 a.m. Sunday for a reported accident. Deputies say two of the three people in the vehicle left the scene.

The Allamakee County K-9 found drugs and a gun in the vehicle before going out and finding one of the people who ran from the scene. The third person is still on the run.

The two men arrested are 31-year-old Thomas James Nelson of Tomah, Wisconsin and 27-year-old Michael James Nissalke Jr. of LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

Nelson is charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of a Prescription Drug, Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana 3

rd or subsequent and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Nissalke is charged with Consumption / Intoxication.
