An area family is grieving over the loss of two young sisters and their grandmother in a car crash.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. Sunday night, on Highway 64 near 120th Avenue not far from Monticello.

The crash scene has been cleaned up but the pain is still very real.

"She says I'll be home in a half hour but when that half hour came, there was nobody."

Tot Taylor is surrounded by family and friends- as he mourns the loss of his wife and two young grand-daughters.

"When I got there and saw everything... the chief of police says to me, I hate to do this," Taylor said.

The police chief had bad news, he told Tot that another vehicle crossed over the center line and hit the Taylor's car- killing all three of them.

The news spread quickly and this is something that hit the close-knit community of Oxford Junction hard.

Rebecca Crane, a friend of the two young girls said, "My mind can't process I'm just dreaming."

Jade was just 11 years old and attended Midland Elementary and her sister, Alexis, was a recent high school graduate.

Both, are described as friends to anyone and everyone.

"Alexis was a really smart and intelligent girl and she would always make everyone's day. Her sister was full of energy, she was really smart and pretty," Crane says.

Their grandmother, Sharon and Tot were about to celebrate their 48th wedding anniversary next week.

"The years had been just beautiful," Taylor says.

The three went out for a day of shopping but, never came back home. An unimaginable feeling for the two girl's mother.

Stephanie Hall says, "I'm upset for the simple fact that I lost two beautiful girls and my mom."

Local churches say they have opened an account at Citizen State Bank in Oxford Junction, for anyone interested in helping the family at this time.

The driver of the other vehicle was injured with non-life threatening injuries.
