UPDATE: Police release name of pedestrian killed after being hit by car

UPDATE: Police have released the name of a pedestrian killed after being hit by a car in Manchester on Sunday night.

Manchester Police say Randi William Letts, 57, of Manchester, was attempting to cross North Franklin St. outside of the designated crosswalk area. Police say Sean Boston Brindley, 24, of Manchester, was traveling south bound on North Franklin, and tried swerving to avoid hitting Letts.

Brindley's vehicle ended up striking Letts. Police say Letts later died from his injuries at the hospital.

The Manchester Police Department says the accident was reported at 9:56 p.m. at North Franklin Street and East Acres Street. 

Authorities say a preliminary investigation indicates the person was attempting to cross North Franklin Street and a vehicle traveling south on North Franklin Street struck them.

The victim was transported to Regional Medical Center in Manchester and later died.

No names are being released at this time pending completion of the investigation.
