Every second Saturday of the month, Janelle Miller measures, mixes and prepares food for hundreds of veterans and community members during the Waverly community breakfast.
"That is some good egg biscuit," a veteran says.
And she loves every minute of it.
"I love to cook, and I love to serve groups and to be what I used to call a 'be there.' Just be there," she says.
With some help from her husband, she started these community breakfasts to raise money for the local veterans' post. And it seems everyone around wanted to help.
"The volunteers have been great and it's been wonderful to see the point where other people can take charge," Miller says.
People of all ages come out to enjoy meals like this and donate money, but the breakfasts are about so much more than just good food.
"We're looking out World War II veterans very quickly, and those stories need to be shared," said Richard Miller. "I think it's been good to let them tell their story and let some of the ghosts be released."
And that's why Janelle Miller is someone you should know.
