Iowa State blows by UNI 31-7

After a slow start, Iowa State scored 31 unanswered point to knock off UNI 31-7.
UNI sent out Aaron Bailey to take the start at quarterback. The Illinois transfer beat out 3 contenders, including veteran Sawyer Kollmorgen, to take the opening snaps against ISU. Bailey used his his feet and arm to lead UNI on an 87 yard scoring drive early in the second quarter. He hit Savon Huggins on a 19 yard touchdown strike to give UNI an early 7-0 edge.
However, a big turnover turned the momentum. Iowa State's Dale Pierson picked off Bailey near midfield, returning the ball deep in to Panther territory. Five plays later, Joshua Thomas scored his first career touchdown on a one yard run tying the game at 7-7. Late in the half, a long punt return by Allen Lazard set up a Cole Netten field goal as Iowa State led 10-7 at halftime.
In the second half, Sam Richardson threw touchdown strikes to Dondre Daley and Lazard, while walk-on Trever Ryan capped the scoring, finding a seam down the right sideline on an 81 yard punt return for the game's final touchdown.
Richardson threw for 233 yards in the game, while Tyler Brown led the Cyclone rushing attempt with 68 yards on 11 carries. Bailey led UNI's rushing attach with 85 yards on 22 carries. He threw for 114 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception.
