One person injured in golf cart accident

One Cedar Rapids person was taken by Air Ambulance to the hospital with life-threatening injuries Saturday around 3:20 p.m. after a golf cart accident in Palo.

Linn County Sheriff's Deputies say 29-year-old Jessie Philiph was to taken to the U of I Emergency Room in Iowa City after he and two other people were found injured at Creek Ridge Drive and Meadow Creek Drive.

The three men were riding the cart when one of them fell.

The driver of the car, 30-year-old Joshua Huber of Cedar Rapids, was not injured.

Derrick Beadle, 27 of Palo, was also riding the golf cart and was also uninjured.

The accident remains under investigation.

Charges against Huber are pending.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies, Linn County Sheriff’s Rescue, Palo Fire Department, Hiawatha Ambulance, and Lifeguard Air Ambulance responded to the incident.
