JOHNSON COUNTY (KWWL) -

Having seven home Hawkeye football games equals a $110 million economic boost for Johnson County, according to a 2014 study by the Iowa City/Coralville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. Just one game brings in $16 million to the area.

According to the study, the average travel party spent $706 if they stayed in a hotel.

Just the Northwestern game brought in more than 52,000 people who booked 2,816 hotel rooms.
