Fourth annual Glow Stick 5K

If you ask Taylor Morris how it feels to be a hometown hero, he'll tell you it's hard to describe.

Taylor Morris, a Cedar Falls native and Navy vet ended his tour in Afghanistan in 2012.

It was in 2012 he stepped on an IED, which resulted in him losing portions of all of his limbs, making him a quadruple amputee.

Four years ago, a 5K was held to raise money for Morris.

After the event, he decided it was time to give back.

"This is my home team," said Morris, at the fourth annual 5K on Friday.

His story has captured attention all over the country, but for him and his soon to be wife Danielle, nothing is more important than home.

On the fourth annual Glow Stick 5K, the proceeds of the event -- all $10,000, went to someone else in need.

The money went to Wagner with the Brazilian 2Wins.

The Brazilian 2Wins are a local music group, and Wagner, the ukelele player, has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.

He was only able to join the group by Skype, as he was receiving chemo treatment in Iowa City, but he expressed his gratitude loudly.

This year, more than 300 people registered for the 5K.
