IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

The Iowa Women’s Music Festival celebrates its 22nd anniversary on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Iowa City.

Running noon to 6 p.m., the festival “Day Stage” features a diverse lineup of performers from around the country, the region, and Iowa.

The festival is free of charge and no tickets are required.

The 2015 festival will feature the nationally renowned improvisational violinist and composer Mazz Swift (Brooklyn, NY), ferociously popular multi-instrumental and genre-bending trio Big Bad Gina (Fayetteville, AR), and up-and-coming alt-rockers Meghan Rose and the Bones (Madison, WI).

In addition, IWMF is thrilled to welcome BeJae Fleming (Columbus, OH) back home to Iowa.

Mazz has performed and recorded with a diverse accumulation of artists including Whitney Houston, Perry Farrell, Dee Snider, James “Blood” Ulmer, Vernon Reid, Valerie June, DJ Logic, William Parker, Butch Morris, Jason Lindner, Kanye West, and most recently as string mistress for D’Angelo’s “Vanguard Strings.”

Mazz has appeared at many major music festivals around the country, on the David Letterman Show, and recently on the Today Show.
