DUBUQUE (KWWL) -
An Asbury man is in custody, after allegedly holding a 70-year-old Dubuque woman at gun point against her will and eluding police officers.
Dubuque Police arrested Jacob Harrison, 19, after someone reported a suspicious vehicle in the Embassy West area on Wednesday morning. Police says the driver wasn't wearing a seat belt, and when they attempted to stop him - he sped off.
About an hour later, officers were called by a 70-year-old woman who said she confronted a man in her garage. She says the man was looking for someone named "Joe," but she didn't know what he was talking about. Shortly after, the man left the garage.
Later, as she was sitting at her computer inside her home, a man came up behind her, threw a blanket on her head, restrained her and demanded to know where "Joe" was.
The victim says she could feel a gun being held against her body, and shortly after she could see the weapon.
Eventually the man left her home.
The two separate investigations merged into one, after each case reported the same license plate number on the suspicious vehicle.
The suspect in both cases was identified as Harrison. He was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Burglary, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, False Imprisonment and eluding.
While police were investigating, another person living in the Embassy West neighborhood reported finding a gun in their yard; the gun was recovered near the 70-year-old woman's home. Investigators found that it wasn't an actual gun, rather an air-soft handgun.
Harrison is in the Dubuque County Jail on a $200,000 cash bond.
