WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The Hawkeye Express arrives in Coralville for another season of taking University of Iowa Football fans to Kinnick Stadium.

The six-car, black and gold locomotive left Waterloo Tuesday afternoon and traveled south through Washburn, LaPorte City, Mt. Auburrn, Vinton, Shellsburg, Palo and Cedar Rapids.

Iowa Northern Railway General Foreman, Jason Aarons, says he takes pride in maintaining the locomotive in the off season, and people's reaction is payoff enough, "I'd have to say the looks on the children's faces when you pull into the station, and they see how big it is with all the cars and engines."

The train arrived in Coralville at dusk.

The service starts nearly three hours before home games.

Post-game service starts at the end of the third quarter and runs for an hour and a half after the game is over.
