FAIRFAX (KWWL) -

A Fairfax couple who dealt with flooding this weekend is now dealing with fire damage.

Firefighters were called to 206 Prairie Avenue just before seven this morning.

Harold and Cheryl Scott say  just this weekend they were dealing with some flooding issues, but were getting things back to normal until this fire broke out this morning.

The Scotts have lived here for nearly 30 years and lost a number of antiques in the fire.

Their daughter says even though she doesn't live at the house anymore, it's hard knowing her childhood bedroom is gone.

Thankfully no one was hurt in the fire, but firefighters from Fairfax, Norway, and Atkins were brought in because of the weather.

"We used all the man power we had just because of the temperature. The humidity. A lot of firemen were getting really warm, so everyone got tired really fast," Chief Mike Sankot said.

While damage looks minimal on the outside, firefighters had to tear down walls inside the house to get to the fire.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the fire.
