CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

The fourth annual Ovarian Cancer Awareness walk took place today.

It was held at Noelridge Park in Cedar Rapids.

The event is hosted by the "Never Give Up" organization, who had their largest turn out ever this year with over 230 people pre-registered.

Dawn Fields, the president of the organization says ovarian cancer is different than many other forms of cancer.

"Once it gets ahold of you, if you get a reoccurs within 5 years, odds are you won't survive it," she said.

More than 22 ovarian cancer survivors registered to participate in the walk.

September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
