Dike-New Hartford rolls past Aplington-Parkersburg 35-8

The annual rivalry turned in to a rout Saturday night as Dike-New Hartford rolled past Aplington-Parkersburg 35-8.

The Wolverines Trent Johnson chewed up big yards on the ground, gaining 166 in the first half while scoring on runs of 13 and 37 yards. Nick Durnin added an 8 yard touchdown run as the Wolverines led 21-0 at the half.

In the third quarter, Dike-New Hartford kept the pressure on as quarterback Jacob Moore rolled out on a 4th and goal to hit Connor Neuroth for a 3 yard touchdown and a 28-0 lead. Minutes later Moore scored on a one yard sneak to finish out the Wolverine scoring. Aplington-Parkersburg, meanwhile, finally found the endzone on an 11 yard run by Riley Barrett late in the 4th.
