Group sends out incorrect absentee ballot information

Posted: Updated:
BLACK HAWK COUNTY (KWWL) -
The Black Hawk County Election Office says they've received a number of absentee ballot request forms that they haven't sent out; the ballot request forms are coming from a group that claims to be the Black Hawk County Election Office but really isn't.
The Election Office also says that those forms also include several factual errors.
If you have any questions about a ballot form you've received, or about absentee ballots in general call (319) 833-3007 or email elections@co.black-hawk.ia.us.
Typically, correct mailed absentee ballots should be postmarked the day before the election or earlier to be counted; however, with a federal holiday on September 7, courthouses won't be open that day. The post mark for this election is Saturday, September 5.
Ballots may also be returned to the courthouse through the close of the polls, 8:00 pm, on Election Day, September 8.
