DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

First-person interpreters are part of new living history performances at the Mathias Ham House Historic Site in Dubuque.

"Engaging Portrayals" will be presented, and have an actor portraying either the life of a lead miner at the recreated lead mine on the Ham House grounds or portraying a 19th century woman within the house.

These presentations will be available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 26 and 28, and Sept. 4-7.

This project is supported in part by the City of Dubuque Arts and Culture program and Humanities Iowa. Area theater professionals including Lenore Howard from Fly By Night Productions worked with Ham House and Museum staff and volunteers in workshops on acting techniques.
