College students finish last minute prep before classes

Posted: Updated:

Last minute prep was going on all over University of Northern Iowa's campus, Sunday.

The last hours of summer for college students were spent catching up with friends and checking off the list of to-do's to be ready for classes.
But for one UNI student and his family, moving into the dorms last minute is no big deal.
As a senior, this is Brody Eldridge's 4th time going through the process.
"You have everything figured out, it seems like. You know what you need to pack. You just know everything you are going to need to last the year," said Brody.
"Well for Brody, a Television, microwave, and refridgerator," is all he needs, according to his dad, Dough Eldridge.
And as a typical college guy, Brody's mom knows to make sure he has all the basics before she leaves.
"I make sure he has laundry detergent, which he probably won't use a lot of, " teased Becky Eldridge.
Still on the last minute list for many of the UNI students, financial aid, parking passes, and of course one of the biggest college expenses, books.
"Get my books, get food, and probably cleaning supplies," said Brody.
And of course last thing on the list, saying goodbye.
"For mom its different. . .she ends up with tears," laughed Doug.

Brody waited until today to move in, but some students have been on campus since Tuesday.
