LINN COUNTY (KWWL) -

A Marengo woman was hospitalized after a crash at Highway 13 and County Home Road in Linn County.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office says at around 6:47 p.m. Tuesday, 78-year-old Charles Landers of Marion was headed north on Highway 13 in his pick-up when he failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection with County Home Road.

Sergeant Andy Humphrey says Landers' truck crashed into a car driven by 64-year-old Rebecca Gorsch of Marengo who was headed west on County Home Road.

Gorsch was trapped for a short time and was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids after being rescued from the car. She is expected to recover from her injuries.

Landers and his passenger, 77-year-old Waunita Landers, were not hurt.

Charles Landers was ticketed for failing to obey a stop or yield sign.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office says Gorsch is facing a possible charge that is not traffic related. Colonel John Stuelke says the Linn County attorney is reviewing the charge.

The accident remains under investigation.
