This month the Dubuque Police Department did a seatbelt survey.

The survey checked drivers in residential, commercial, industrial, and highway routes. They looked at 100 vehicles in the following areas and came up with the following percentages:
Commercial Area (University and Asbury): 83% compliance

Residential Area (Keyway and Hillcrest): 91% compliance

Highway Area (Hwy 20 and Cedar Cross): 88% compliance

Industrial Area (2000 block of Kerper Blvd): 92% compliance.

Overall compliance was 88.5%. Officers reported this information to the Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau.
